![]() ![]() Unless of course you throw in thousands upon thousands at your engine, then handling and then maybe you may have a car that can keep up the the "big boys". Taking on the "big boys" is something you can't really do in a Honda civic. Then strip her bare, Tune and run it with the big boysI also dislike the way you say this. The stock honda engines they put in the ek were more than up to the challenge of getting more power and since they have a excellent chassis (for their time) all they need are a few tweaks with bracing and better suspension and you have a great little car that can handle almost anything. So things like cams, pistons and things like that. Think of the simple stuff like a proper suspension set up, bigger brakes, bracing everywhere you can think of, intake modifications either a cold air or a enclosure system (like the mugen one for an example), a full exhaust system including exhaust manifold, cat and cat back system as well as doing internal work when you have done everything else. A TRUE honda person works with the engine they have. You can get conversion kits, this includes engine mounts, driveshafts and all the other little things you don't think about, but these kits do cost a little bit and then once you've done all that you need to get it engineered as I think by memory you need to modify the chassis a little so then the k20 fits in easy.Įngine swaps are just the flavour of the month really. You get less power yes, but you get better handling as the b motor is a little lighter than the k20 platform and also to add to that, the B motor just slots right in, the k20 requires a lot of custom fabrication. Save up and do a K20,k24K20 swap isn't going to be economical for a ek civic. ![]()
